back to the fifties

Ash Stymest for Man About Town spring/summer 2009, James Dean, both via google.com

We've had photography for the past two weeks, and yesterday we finally went out to take the actual photos we'd been planning on taking this week. The below above are inspired by the 50s and actors from that decade, and also the first picture in this post. I was also thinking a lot about the greaser-style many boys had, so I thought that would be a good idea.

Most portraits from the fifties were in black and white, so when I was editing I made them black and white, and for a more vintage look I also edited the levels and added a filter called film grain. Oh, and one thing I may add, when you take pictures you should take them in RAW file. It takes up more place on your SD Card, but when you edit your photos and eventually save them in .JPEG, the quality will turn out better than if they were in .JPEG when you first started editing. There are also other file formats you can save your pictures as. Such as .TIFF, which is short for Tagged Image File Format, and for storing photography and is popular by lots of graphic artists. You can also save your pictures in .PNG, but it takes up more place than e .JPEG file, and it works best for icons and logos rather than photographs.

And as you can see right beneath the picture there's a copyright "button". It's by creative commons, it's free, and it means you can't edit my photo nor use it for commercial advice. You can chose how you want it, you can also decide that people can edit your photo or use it in ads etc.
